Panic Attacks

Trembling, tightness, dizziness and many other frightening symptoms can arise quite suddenly and for no apparent reason. They are the effects of the body going into a fight or flight response. This happens when the perception of a threat triggers an outpouring of physiological changes. The bodily symptoms together with the increased anticipation thereof cause a vicious circle of panic.

Panic attacks are often associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (trauma) or burnout syndrome.

Treatment is by means of trauma-therapeutic methods (see Methods) as well as teaching practical techniques for emergencies.
